NEW DELHI: Several fake websites keep surfacing on the web from time to time with the aim to trap users and capture their sensitive information. Although Google takes care of most of them, some manage to bypass the checks. One such website that appears to be duping customers is http://mi-offers.com/. From the name it appears to be a website linked to Xiaomi, one where one can buy Xiaomi-branded smartphones at discount or with deals. What might interest users is that the website is offering the the new Xiaomi smartphoneRedmi Note 4 for as low as Rs 499.
The website, which actually is a fake e-commerce page, not only is offering the Rs 12,999 handset at Rs 499 but also shows a fake Amazon fulfilled logo besides the price in order to appear as a legit page. For those unaware, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is up for grabs only on Flipkart and Mi.com. So all those hunting for offers on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone and thinking of buying the smartphone from this website, please don't. The Redmi Note 4 has a 5.5-inch full-HD display, offering wide-viewing angles. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The users can further expand the storage up to 128GB by installing a microSD card. The smartphone comes in three variants -- 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with the company's native MIUI 8 skin. It is backed by a 4100mAh battery and also comes with an IR blaster and the Mi remote control app. On the camera front, the Note 4 has a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and 5MP front camera. As for the price, the Chinese manufacturer has priced the 2GB RAM version at Rs 9,999, the 3GB RAM variant at Rs 10,999 and the 4GB RAM variant at Rs 12,999.
